DataShield searches over 400 known data broker websites using the personal information you provide — such as your name, city, and state. Our scanning engine queries each broker's public search interface and identifies listings that match your profile. No passwords or sensitive credentials are required.

Once we identify brokers that have your data, DataShield automatically submits opt-out and removal requests on your behalf. Each broker has its own removal procedure — some accept email requests, others require form submissions. We handle all of it so you don't have to.

Most data brokers process removal requests within 7 to 14 days, though some may take up to 45 days depending on their policies. You can track the status of every removal request in the app's dashboard. We also re-scan periodically to confirm your data has been taken down.

Your DataShield subscription is managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). To change or cancel your plan, open your device's subscription settings. You can also access subscription management directly from the Settings tab within the DataShield app.

You can delete your account from the Settings tab in the app by selecting "Delete Account." This will permanently remove all of your personal data from our servers, including scan results and removal history. Account deletion is processed within 48 hours.

Absolutely. Your personal information is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We use your data solely to perform scans and submit removal requests — we never sell, share, or monetize it. Our infrastructure is hosted on secure, SOC 2-compliant cloud providers.
